If you were ever involved with or heard of the online “Demo Scene” back in the day (by “the day” I’m really referring to “the day” relevant to me, which was in the ’90s – the demo scene has actually been around for much longer than my short involvement), I believe you may find a special place for me in your heart
“Tracking“, as it were, was a huge part of my adolescence and on into my late teens. It was an opportunity to use my IBM PS/2 (with a bangin’ 486mhz cpu, 4megs of ram, and a 300 baud modem) as a musical powerhouse. Mod Tracker, Scream Tracker, Fast Tracker, Impulse Tracker… everyone releasing and sharing their home-grown music… it was pure awesomeness.
Alas, the old days of a thriving online demo scene are long gone. I still kick it with some old demo scene favorites and recently, even updated my ringtones with some classics so I can jam with every ring
… and I will now share them with you.

BONUS: I’m full of goodies today… this is my new alarm for the early morning. It fits quite nicely with a gentle and quite begning and gradually grows to a loud, “get up already!” ending.

If anyone is interested in getting more free music from the demo scene and convert it into ringtones (or just into mp3s for your listening pleasure), drop a comment and I’ll write up a full how to.
